“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Marianne Williamson

” I am Unique, and Amazing. Like no one else, I have the exclusive on being Myself.”

Dan Coppersmith

You are a living magnet. What you attract into your life is in harmony with your dominant thoughts.

Brian Tracy

When making an affirmation for yourself.

Create them to describe your behaviour, not the behaviour of others. This makes sense as when you write down your affirmation. Use the word “I” always.

Jack Canfield says “Make your Affirmation brief and put an advertising Jingle to it” so it is easy to remember. Vague affirmations produce vague results.

I like to run and when I first started running it was more like a fast walk and I would say to myself “I dont care how fast I run, I just want to run,”

and that is what happened, I walked fast. As time went on, I realized I wanted to run faster, so I changed my affirmation.

”I am feeling fast and great at 128″

This describes both behaviour and result.

One of many books I would recommend ” Jack Canfield” The Success Principles “How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be”

1) Swap your Sweetner:

Research now supports age-old wisdom that honey has an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effect, which may help keep the immune system strong.

2) Spice Things Up:

Common herbs and spices, including cinnamon, tumeric, garlic, oregano, parsley, thyme and rosemary contain certain antioxidants that may help protect against inflamation and disease.

Sore knees are one of the 1st signs of inflammation, it may be an old injury but we now know for certain that our body repairs itself every 7 years.

Spring is a great time to start your own little herb garden.

3) Look on the bright side:

Feeling positive about life helps contribute to both longevity and better health while depression and pessimism are linked to higher disease rates.

“The sun always shines above the clouds.”
― Paul F. Davis

4) Eat more veggies:

You had to have known I was going to say “eat more veggies”. 7-8 servings for women and 8-10 for men. It is easier than you think. Serve Fruit Smoothies and add greens in. Fill half of your plate with the brightest colored vegetables that you like.

I hear lots of people say “oh, my kids or my husband wont eat this or that vegetable”. I say “so, then serve the vegetables they do like”. It is easy.

Buy what they like, or better yet bring them shopping with you. Try the veggies and greens you like and try other vegetables that you may only eat on special occasions. Everyday is a special occasion. You are Alive arent You!

5) Eat Together:

Want to feel better about your families nutrition?

Call them to the table for meals that you are at home. Put the cell phones away, turn off the T.V. and make sure you are grateful for that time and food.

It is important for family bonding and gathering everyone for mealtime means children eat better nutritionally and consume more fruits and vegetables. As well when you sit down together with your kids You are also modelling healthy habits. Encourage laughs, smiles and gratitude. Try to give everybody at the table a compliment.

Let us know how you Choose to have a Healthy, Happy Life

I am forever grateful to have the opportunity to share information with you. Charlena

I have used a Vision Board for years, it looks different all the time. You can call it a “Treasuer Map” or a “Dream Board”

I use words like~

Abundance, Adventure, Career, Celebrate, Cherish, Growth, Commitment, Imagine, Create, Faith, Fun, Fitness, Focus, Laughter, Passion, This or Something better, Make a Difference, Travel, Walking the Talk, Yoga, Enthusiasm, Inspiration, Family, Friends, Relaxation….

I recently added~ March to a Mission

The Great thing about a Vision Board is that you can have it on your fridge, in your office, in your bathroom, on your favorite wall (that you see right before you walk out the door) or really anywhere you will see it and say ”oh yeah” I will work on that today or tomorrow. You actually dont even have to mentally or physically work on it. The pictures sit in your subconscious and you tend to gravitate towards that goal or image.

If you tend to be a little more creative than others, The Board will show your creativity.

John Assirif says in his book. The “What” Precedes the “How”

Most of us have been taught to pursue our goals by mapping out a logical series of steps to take us there.

Creating a Vision Board takes the opposite approach. Instead of fussing about the “how”. Creating a Vision Board focuses your mind on the destination. “As If” As if it has already happened. If it’s something you want strongly enough, and the image is that powerful, magnetic, gravitational attraction, you’ll find the how.

Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it!

The Basic Ingredients of a Vision Board:

Goals and Dreams

Intention

Visualization

Beliefs

Affirmations

Meditation

Positive Action

Gratitude

Suggestions for books to read:

The Vision Board Book ~ John Assaraf

There is so much information on how to eat, feel great, feel sexy, look sexy, have more than enough energy and the list goes on and on….

BUT, why don’t you eat great, feel great, feel sexy, look sexy, have more than enough energy and the list goes on and on…or do you?

Can it be as easy as saying…

“I feel great”

“I have so much energy”

“I look sexy and feel sexy”

“I have enough money right now”

” I am happy right now”

” I have the life of leisure”

” I am as busy as I make myself to be”

Can it be as easy as changing the way you talk and the way you walk? Why not?

We all know it does not matter what size you are, whether or not you have the greatest and the lastest fashion, whether you hair has a new cut or not. Life is Life and we need to take ahold of each and every minute.

Be Present, Be Accountable, Know your Values and Stay True to Them.

What is your Purpose?

What are your values? Are these questions you want answers to? Everybody is UNIQUE and that is GREAT!

Ridiculously Simple Fruit Recipe:
2 Bananas
1 Pineapple
2 Oranges
1 Bunch of Red/Green Grapes
1 cup Blackberries
1 cup Cherries
1 cup Strawberries
1 cup Raspberries
2 Apples
1 Pear

Preparation Time:
15 minutes Wash with water, vinegar and salt

Serve on Platter that you save for “Special Days”
~ Everyday is “Special”
~ Use it
~ Love it and Celebrate Today

Nutritional Value:

Come on… Do I really have to tell you? No, we all know why we should eat fruit and vegetables. Love Your Body, Love Your Fruit

Seems ridiculously easy but if you serve this dish after school, a quick dinner, a movie night or a fun night. You will reap the benefits. So I hesitate to mention that Fruit is “Natural” Fruit is “Whole” Fruit is “Not Processed” Fruit has “No added Preservatives” (yes, you can argue with that but a good clean and a scrub will help. It is still 100% healthier than eating anything out of a box or a bag that has more than 1 ingredient in it.

Do you agree? Let me know what you think!

Do you write down what you eat? If your Goal is to feel more energetic and eat healthier, try writing down what you eat during a day. It is fun to see your food choices and how they make you feel. You may be shocked at what you eat and how much you eat.
It is so Easy, So Good for You and Your Family or Friends

Mexican Pinto Beans and Brown Rice ~ Tosca Reno

When you combine beans with rice you get a fast and easy, high-quality protein meal. The creamy pinto beans paired with spicy flavors from Mexico tastes even better after a day or two in the fridge. Great Lunch leftovers.

Note: You’ll want cooked rice for this recipe. Always a great idea to cook rice early in the week and have left overs to make similiar dishes. I like a mixture of brown and wild rice.

Ingredients

3 Tbsp. coconut oil or sesame seed oil/ oil of your choice

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp coriander

1 tsp cinnamon

1 Tbsp. chili powder

1 medium onion

3 cloves garlic

2 cups brown rice

4 cups pinto beans

1 1/2 to 2 cups vegetable stock

3 Tbsp. chipotle peppers

2 Tbsp tomatoe paste

1 tsp sea salt

Method:

Heat oil in Dutch oven over medium heat. Add cumin, coriander, cinnamon and chili powder. Heat until fragrant. Add chopped onion and cook until soft. Add garlic and cook a few minutes more. Add cooked rice and rinsed beans, stock, peppers, tomatoe paste and salt. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Serve hot with a salad or your favorite veggie dish.

Take Action… Add your name to the list and you will automatically recieve the blog in your incoming email.

To YOU From YOU

Crazy Idea, but it just might work on keeping you healthy spiritually and physically. With holidays coming up so fast, it is important to stay calm, peaceful, loving, happy and smiling…

Wow, who can do all that with all you have to do? YOU

It is the middle of November and I know you have lots to do for everybody else, but this year take some time for you before the hustle and the bustle. Write a Love Letter.

Yes, To YOU From YOU!

It is really inexpensive, so no quilt. Not that I think you should feel guilty for spending money on yourself:) But sometimes we do!

1) Find a Beautiful piece of paper and pen that you like to use

2) Light a Candle

3) Start writing… I LOVE that II Love you… ( you fill in the blanks)

Keep writing, remembering and journal everything that you have accomplished. It might seem weird at first and it might take a few times to complete, but you will LOVE how GREAT YOU ARE and YOU had almost forgotten everything that you have accomplished.

Please forward to others you think maybe able to use this idea.

I am forever grateful to be able to share information with you.

“In the process of my research, I found that adding blended greens to anyone’s diet makes such a profound health improvement that it may even surpass the benefits of eating a typical all-raw diet with a relatively small amount of greens.”

~ Victoria Boutenko, Green For Life

I finished The 3-Day Green Smoothie Challenge. It was a challenge but what I loved about it the most was I definitely slept better so therefore I had more energy!

I included the links for anybody who is interested in adding more Greens and Vegetables. There are some fun recipes for children as well.

http://www.terawarner.com/

http://greensmoothiesblog.com/

I thought I ate a variety of vegetables but I have never used “Greens” in my smoothies. I love Green Juices but have never really put Greens in a smoothie.

Did you know there is a difference between “Greens” and “Vegetables”? They all have great vitamins and minerals and at the same time are unique in the ability of providing and being able to absorb or digest them. The “Greens” on a Root Vegetable that we often throw away are amazing if fresh and washed and added to a “Green Smoothie”

Important tips for an Emotional Eater:

1) Sit down when you eat with no distractions. Just sit there, enjoy your food, I mean really enjoy your food and note how you feel.

2) Journal or Write down what you eat and how it makes you feel. This gives you a sense on what works for you and to remember we are all Unique, even when it comes to nutrition, exercise and what we like to eat and what works for YOU:)

3) When setting your goal for your Health, decide what it is you really want. Write down your thoughts and think about how you will feel when you get to that goal and try to start feeling that way now. If you think you will be happier in a size 8, 10 or 12. Think about what you can do for yourself to start feeling those “happier” feelings now.

4) Eat only when you are hungry.

5) Hydrate yourself.

6) Try to not eat when in a vehicle

What? Where? Why? How? When? There are many reasons we eat combined with conflicting information on what is good for you today and not good for you yesterday?

This is the main reason I started studying to become a Health Coach. I wanted correct, realistic, wholefood information for a LifeStyle not a diet. I wanted positive, encouraging, and safe information to help myself, my family and friends feel and look great.

“Goals allow you to control the direction of change in your favor.” Brian Tracy

What was your goal for the fall?

Did you want to start a new exercise, register for a cooking class, drink less coffee, cut out sugar, learn to drive a Harley Davidson truck or bike, learn another language? Whatever your goal is make it the most important thing in your life.

You know the saying “If you Think You Can, You Are Right”

Here are a few tips and examples to help you set your goals.

Weekly Goals…

Making positive changes each week and marking them down are important. You will see results almost immediately.

What: Ex: Started Martial Arts- 2x week- Tuesday and Thursday ~ mark the dates and times in your calendar so you do not double book yourself and become frustrated

Why: Exercise – Write down or Journal the reason you want to exercise and make notes each session how you feel after the exercise and the next day.

Self Defense – Write down or Journal why you think it is important to know. Write down or Journal the strength you feel physically and emotionally when your session is over.

Lose Weight – Write down or Journal why you want to lose weight, how you will feel and look. How much do you want to lose each week? ex. 2 lbs

Daily Tasks- Write down or Journal what you will want to do to complete this goal. Your daily tasks may be a short list, only a week or a month or it maybe a year.

Goal Setting is fun as you will see your goals and dreams come true, but like most everything we do it also involves time and effort(Work). It is important to write down the action required and take action.

In the app “Trackin’ It Up” you will be able to write down your goals, share your goals, mark them private or public as well as add required actions and daily tasks.

An amazing book to read is “The Success Principle~ How to Get From Where You Are to Where You Want To Be”
